Home Chapel GuidesNew 2011-2012 Home Chapel Guides are posted below. Here at Veritas, we believe that the Bible is the rule for faith and practice. All that we teach at Veritas is to be taught through the lens of Scripture. We endeavor to teach all subject matter from a Christian worldview. Whether in math, history, science, or music, all teachers are to intertwine the truths that they are teaching to their understanding of God and His world. In addition to this, our grammer students participate in a weekly Bible class called Omnibus Primer. This six year curriculum is designed to help prepare students for the theology they study in 7th -12th grades under the Omnibus curriculum. The 1st - 4th graders focus on Bible content (key people, places, events, themes, and stories of redemptive history) while the 5th and 6th graders are introduced to systematic theology in its simplist forms. One of the blessings of this curriculum is that it is designed to support the parents in the discipleship of their childern. All lesson application takes place in the home under the parents care and nurture in the form of class homework. Unlike the typical Christian school, Veritas does not have a chapel service. This is not because we believe that it is unimportant. On the contrary, we believe that conducting daily home chapel is a primary responsibility of the parents for the spiritural training of their children. Since we attach such great importance to this practice, we require all parents of full-curriculum students to commit to a daily home chapel of 15 minutes as a condition of enrollment. To help direct parents, we provide a chapel guide schedule for each grade beginning in kindergarten all the way to 12th grade that includes Bible reading, scripture memorization, and monthly hymns/psalms for singing. If families follow the entire chapel program over a period of 13 years, they will have read through 60 of the 66 books of the Bible, including the Gospels and Acts three times and a number of the books twice, sung over 120 well-known hymns and psalms; and memorized many well-known and well-loved passages. Please see the attached documents for each grade's chapel guide. If you are not familiar with these songs, please click on the following links to listen to the tunes. The hymns are all linked to a site which gives historical information on the lyricist and musician. It also has the words for each hymn. Please find the music section and click on MIDI. The Psalms are linked to Life Bible-Presbyterian Church's web page. Please click on the correct numbered Psalm to listen to the tune. - August 18 - September 30 - My Faith Looks Up to Thee - October 3 - October 28 - Psalm 89 - October 31 - December 2 - Angels We Have Heard On High - December 5 - December 16 - Psalm 65 - January 2 - January 27 - This Is My Father's World - January 30 - February 24 - Psalm 148 - February 27 - March 2 - Hail The Day That Sees Him Rise - April 10 - April 27 - Psalm 138 - April 30 - June 1 - Ye Servants Of God Attached Documents
