Board Member Testimonials

Why did you choose to become involved with Veritas Academy?

My wife, Liz, and I have been involved in one way or another, either as an employee, a bookkeeper and a Board member for ten years. We have always felt that there is no other option in Savannah for educating our children. Early on we homeschooled, but realized it wasn’t feasible for us to continue that option long-term.
Will Brodmann

My wife, Fun, and I wanted a Christ-centered, family-friendly and academically rigorous education for our children. No other school in Savannah provides such an education. So, we worked with other parents to invent one.
David Gobel

In order to establish a school that was classical (e.g. Latin, structured by the trivium), thoroughly Christian (curriculum, teachers, parents), and had a reduced day.

I have a third grader enrolled in Veritas, and have been very pleased with the education she has received thus far. I want to ensure that the high level and form of teaching will continue throughout my child’s educational development. Being a part of the Board of Directors is a way in which I can fulfill our family’s goal of surrounding our children with Christian truths and principles outside of the home, and to help other families who are in search of the same ideals.

In your opinion, what type of families should consider Veritas Academy as the place to educate their children?

Families who are Christian, committed to a type of education that is different from the mainstream model, and have children who want to learn.
Will Brodmann

All Christian parents (except for those with ‘special needs’ children) should consider Veritas as a means to educating their children.
David Gobel

All serious Christian parents who want to be involved in their child’s education should consider Veritas Academy.
Terry Johnson

Parents who long for their children to grow into strong Christian Citizens, who will travel through all of life’s hills and valleys with the Word of God as their guiding force. Also, to have their children learn everything with a biblical perspective, and be able to make clear arguments for what is right according to scripture. A parent who is seeking a place that will offer their child wisdom, a love of learning and Christian environment will find all of that and more at Veritas Academy.

Neil Stewart, pastor of Kirk of the Isles Presbyterian Church and former board member, gave a wonderful explanation of why he and his wife have chosen to be a part of Veritas at our 2009 Gryphon Gala.  Please take a moment to read the attached document.
