A Center of Classical Christian Learning
Veritas - [ver´-i-tas] … noun Latin … Truth.
• Do you want your children to experience a loving, yet rigorous, school environment that prepares them to think, speak, and act in a Christian manner?
• Are you seeking a school that focuses on the Truth and teaches young minds to seek what is true, good, and beautiful?
• Do you long to educate your children as you wish you had been?
If you answered yes to these questions, then please read on...
We at Veritas Academy understand this timeless truth:
“Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.” Socrates
That is why we teach all academic subjects integrated with the Biblical worldview and aimed at instilling a life-long love of learning. We teach our students how to think - not simply what to think – and train them to discern truth from error.
Founded in 1998 and meeting in the heart of the historic district, Veritas Academy is the only Classical, Christian school in Savannah, Georgia. We are committed to assisting parents in educating their children by providing a rigorous Pre- K through 12th grade curriculum that is based on the time-tested, classical Trivium approach to liberal arts education within a ‘condensed day' format in a safe environment. We read the great books, teach Latin, French, Logic and Rhetoric and require extensive memorization with frequent recitation. Our goal is to develop students of godly character, mature in their faith, capable of thinking God's thoughts after Him, and able to thrive in whatever field they are called. Our teachers are mature Christians, carefully chosen, who must demonstrate a strong and growing faith in Jesus Christ and a solid understanding of the integration of Biblical worldview into their subject area. With about 120 students enrolled from a wide variety of Christian denominations and backgrounds, Veritas may be small in size, but we offer a variety of extracurricular activities, field trips, and sports.
We are delighted that you are visiting our website and encourage you to browse through the tabs and links to learn more about us. We invite you to call our office and schedule a visit!

The 2013-2014 Parent-Student Handbook has been updated and ready for publication. Take a look below. After months of writing, revisions, and discussions the new and improved (we hope!) Handbook is ready. Please read it over. This Handbook spells out the vision, approach, goals, and policies of Veritas Academy and Veritas Rhetoric School for 2013-2014. The new Handbook essentially contains all of the school's previous policies (some with added detail and clarification) and several new policies. The new policies are new on paper, but most have been "assumed" or in effect in practice for years. You will also note that the Rhetoric School grading scale has been modified. While the new scale remains generous, it does bring Veritas more in line with area private and public schools and in line with other classical Christian schools.
